Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a wedding cake?
The price of a wedding cake varies hugely, depending on your requirements. Size and design all play a part. Please see the Ordering page for a guide to my starting prices and more information.
How far in advance do I need to book my wedding cake?
Once you’ve set your date and booked your venue, it’s a good idea to start thinking about your other key elements, including your cake. I am regularly fully booked 12 months in advance, so get in touch quickly to secure your date!
What areas do you deliver to?
I deliver wedding cakes to wedding venues all over Essex, London, Hertfordshire, Suffolk, Kent, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and beyond (subject to a delivery fee).
How do I choose my design?
You may have seen some pictures of wedding cakes that you already like on Pinterest or in magazines. It’s always helpful for me to see these for initial reference, but your wedding cake design will be completely unique to you and the style of your wedding day.
If you’re struggling with where to start when it comes to design ideas, never fear. At your consultation I can take you through a range of colours, textures, techniques and design options to help you build the custom cake of your dreams.
It’s important that your cake complements the overall style or theme of your wedding, so if you know your colour schemes, favourite flowers that will be in your bouquet, stationery motifs or anything else, bring these along to our consultation to help get the inspiration flowing.
What size wedding cake do I need?
I usually advise 1” x 1” portions, as my cake tiers are over 5” in height and this is usually a sufficient serving size (more than a sliver, less than a slab!). I also suggest that you provide enough portions for 75-80% of your total day and evening guests. However if you would like to offer larger portion sizes, or if you know your friends and family will be making a beeline for the cake so you’ll need more portions, your quote and cake size can be adjusted accordingly! Additionally, if you would like a larger cake than you need portion-wise, we can add dummy tiers to provide height without wastage. I am happy to advise on all elements of this, just ask!
Do you cater for dietary requirements?
I am happy to create cakes without gluten or dairy, or cakes that are vegan. However please be advised that my cakes are made in a kitchen that may contain traces of gluten or dairy products, and therefore may not be suitable for serious allergy sufferers.

Can you make my wedding favours for me?
Absolutely! My favourite are biscuit favours – they can be personalised in so many ways and are such a lovely treat for your guests. I can also do cupcakes, macarons and meringues. Take a look here for some examples of beautiful sweet treats that I have made.
