Cutting the Cake
I love the tradition of cake cutting – it’s your wedding cake’s big moment in the spotlight! Here are some of my gorgeous couples taking that first slice, and seeing the delicious layers inside for the first time.

Charlotte & George
Gaynes Park, Essex
This beautiful ruffled cake complements Charlotte’s gorgeous dress, and made for a showstopping centrepiece at Gaynes Park.

Andrea & Matt
Blake Hall, Ongar, Essex
Beautiful buttercream ruffles for Andrea and Matt’s elegantly rustic wedding at Blake Hall. The joy on this pair’s faces never fails to make me smile.

Katie & Bradley
That Amazing Place, Harlow, Essex
The edible lace on this middle tier adds such a gorgeous texture, and I recreated Katie and Bradley’s monogram that appeared on their stationery as a finishing touch.

Dale & James
Milling Barn, Hertfordshire
Dale and James opted for a towering and dramatic cake in blush, white and gold. I love when the cutting of the cake is done with fanfare, and Dale and James really did give their cake centre stage.

That look of love… what a beautiful image of this stunning pair cutting their all lemon semi naked cake which was served to their guests as their dessert – delicious!

Lucy & Lawrence
Hengrave Hall, Suffolk
Not just a cake cutting but a bit of a cake smash, too! I love this playful shot of Lucy and Lawrence getting messy with their tall semi-naked cake.

Louise & Tom
Blake Hall, Ongar, Essex
Louise & Tom’s autumnal semi naked cake was a beautiful variation on the traditional summer berries – I used plums, blackberries, figs and physallis to decorate – and it smelled divine!

Erica & Alan
Crondon Park, Essex
Bold, tropical florals and a splash of pink make this cake one of my all-time favourites. It suited this gorgeous couple down to the ground.

Sacha & Sati
The Grange Hotel, London
I loved meeting Sacha’s family at our consultation – we had such fun designing their stunning centrepiece and the ideas and plans just got bigger and bigger! A bespoke stencil was made for the shimmer tiers to make this a truly one off original.

Jade & Michael

The happy faces of Jade and Michael show they know what deliciousness is about to happen with the cutting of their beautiful buttercream cake, adorned with meringues, macarons and fresh flowers.

Katie & Nick
Haughley Park Barn, Suffolk
Lots of love went into making the cake for the fabulous Katie and Nick. The second tier was hand-painted to look like William Morris wallpaper, in a pattern that was inspired by the couple’s invitations.

Carly & Ash
Gaynes Park, Epping, Essex
This was such an exciting commission – no novelty but a nod to a theme with the seashells. Carly and Ash met in Ibiza so I handpainted the words “Established: Ibiza 2012” for a personalised touch on this five tier showstopper.

Rosie & Vinni
Devonshire Terrace, London
I knew I was going to get along with this goregous couple when they sat down to their consultation and told me “we would like double sized portions, please: our families love cake”! I was doubly honoured to make Rosie’s beautiful baby shower dessert table last year.

Sarah & Rob
Gaynes Park, Epping, Essex
Sarah and Rob, you fabulously photogenic pair! I love Sarah’s smile in this shot, and I love the jars and bowls of colour-coordinated treats I made to go alongside their naked cake.

Richard & Ryann
Fulham Palace, London
This transatlantic couple were a joy to work with. They loved my sugar flowers so I created a selection to match the stunning floral displays, including the happy sunflower sitting atop the silver birch inspired log cake.

Jane & John
Gaynes Park, Epping, Essex
A stunning showstopper for a spring wedding. Jane knew she wanted cherry blossoms on her cake. I asked to see her invitations, which were a shimmery pink, and she left me to it! I’m pleased to report it was a hit with the couple and their guests!

This Christmas wedding was a dream to work on. Such an elegant colour scheme with a nod to the festive season, the cake worked beautifully in their contemporary London venue.

L ike What You See?
Client Love Letters

“As soon as we saw Lauren’s instagram page we knew we wanted her to create our wedding cake... and we were right! Right from the initial consultation and tasting of the delicious flavours (Michael’s favourite part of the wedding planning overall!) we were confident Lauren would deliver exactly what we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble and Lauren even designed us some bespoke biscuit favours that matched our stationery perfectly! We had so many comments on how delicious both the cake and favours were!“
