Buttercream & Semi Naked Cakes

Here is a selection of my favourite buttercream and semi-naked cakes. This soft, creamy coating for my flavoured sponges is versatile, sweet and intensely moreish. I love playing with textures on my buttercream cakes, making them as stylish and scrumptious as possible. Beautifully decorated with fresh flowers, arranged in a multitude of modern styles, or complemented with additional edible treats such as macarons and meringue kisses, this is a centrepiece which is sure to look as incredible as it tastes.

Semi naked cakes are coated with a thin skim of buttercream, so the sponge is at least partially visible. They’re often considered to be a rustic approach to wedding cakes, but my semi-naked cakes keep things contemporary. The buttercream is sheer and sweet, the lines are sharp and straight. I love the variety of ways these cakes can be adorned with fruit and flowers. Which is your favourite?.

“Lauren was a dream to work with from start to finish. I wasn’t really sure what I wanted for our wedding cake, and combining both my husbands and my likes and dislikes seemed like an impossible task. Lauren was patient, took on-board all our ideas (including making flowers from South Africa!!) and made them into a truly stunning reality! We had so many compliments, not only on the design but also the flavours and taste of the cake. I would thoroughly recommend The honey Bee Wedding Cake Company!
(PS…I thoroughly recommend the Pina Colada flavour!)
